March 30th, 2023
Hello Curling Members, well that’s a wrap for the 2022/2023 curling season…I hope everyone had a great year!
“Thank you” to all our curling members and guests who have supported Inglewood throughout the 2022 / 2023 curling season. We truly appreciate your support!!
I would also like to thank our head ice maker Maleah Blair and her staff – Taylor, Roman, Dan & Stephen for all their hard work during the curling season. Your efforts are appreciated in providing our curling members and guests the best possible ice conditions during the curling
season.
Also, a huge “thank you” to our servers and kitchen staff, we have some of the best in the service industry working here at Inglewood. Thank you for always making everyone feel welcome!
To our instructors Deb Bonneau, Laurie Salhab, Kathy Ervin, Kent Gillingwater, Kim & Ernie Fankhanel. Thank You!! Your enthusiasm and passion for the game is amazing!
The 2022 / 2023 curling season started on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 and our last event was on Friday, March 17th, 2023.
We currently have 16 leagues at Inglewood – Seniors, Mixed, Open, Men’s & Women’s leagues. 700 + curling members use the facility each week.
During the curling season Inglewood hosted 24 outside Corporate/Group events. Inglewood teamed up with Sport Calgary to host an “All Sport One City” Try Curling Event on Saturday, February 18th. 48 spots were available and the session was sold out within the hour when registration opened. There was also 120 on the wait list. It was fantastic to see so many people excited to try the sport.

To the league reps – it was a pleasure to work with all of you this season. Thank you for your commitment and your time to make your league a successful one.

Inglewood Club Championships
Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Club Championships March 17 – 19th, 2023 due to low registrations. Going forward we will be reviewing the format and will communicate how our Club Championships will look for next season.
Curling Restoration
Now we turn our attention to the start of our restoration project in the curling rink. With the cancellation of the Inglewood Club Championships March 17th – 19th, we closed a few days early so we could get a head start on the teardown of the curling facility. It takes 10 – 14 days for the dismantling of the curling rink. Lifting and storing the curling rocks, time for the ice to melt, take out and clean the dividers, clean and store the decals and then make sure the area is prepped for BrySand to start construction on April 3rd, 2023. Watch for construction progress updates.
We are conducting a short survey to prepare for the 2023/2024 curling season…it will only take a few minutes. Your input is key to help us improve your curling experience. Please click on the link below. We appreciate your feedback. Please reply by April 12th, 2023

I also wanted to share with you that after 10 years as the Curling Coordinator at Inglewood I will be saying farewell to you.
We have started the process of hiring a new Curling Coordinator for the 2023/2024 season and beyond. Once the position has been filled a communication will be sent out with an introduction.
Thank you to all of our curling members who have called Inglewood home. It has been a pleasure to get to know all of you.
A very big “Thank You” to – Maleah, Ewelina, Teresa, Leslie, Jason and the rest of the Inglewood Team. Thank you for your guidance, support, knowledge and friendship.
I am not leaving Inglewood completely as I will still be working on the grounds in the summer months and then enjoying my winters off.
Maybe I will see you on the golf course.
All the best to everyone!!
Regards,
Kathleen Redford
