Hello all,
The purpose of this email is to solicit interest in restarting an Inglewood Monday competitive curling league.
This league started in 2007 as a 12 team “Senior” Curling League and over the years has produced several Alberta Senior, Alberta Masters, and Canadian Masters teams – both men and women’s teams.
Unfortunately, due to several factors such as team member changes, onerous entry fee, lack of league sponsorship, and the last couple of years – poor ice quality, the league wasn’t able to continue.
However, this year, Inglewood has taken great strides in producing an excellent ice surface by a lot of extremely hard work and soliciting input from some of the best ice techs in Calgary. But to go even farther, Inglewood has committed to restoring the complete curling facility. Expenditures of over $1.5 million have been approved and this restoration project will start on April 3rd with the replacement of some key equipment and new flooring for sheets 4, 5 and 6 – to start with.
We are open to all ideas and input for this league. The time slot for curling will be Monday’s – 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm.
This league had been operating as a Senior Curling League, but we are open to other ideas.
We’d like to get everyone that’s interested to let us know and we’d like to host a meeting to discuss in more detail. Our goal is to have this new league structure and teams defined by the middle of March 2023 and be ready to start the 2023 – 2024 Season in September!
