Inglewood Curling Fees – The Inglewood Golf & Curling Club Management along with the Board of Directors
have done a lot of work reviewing other clubs and their fees, analyzing our cost to operate a year-round facility,
as well as trying to maintain curling as one of the most affordable winter sports. Inglewood remains competitive
with other curling clubs in the city. The review that was done was based on a per week analysis. We realize
some of the clubs start earlier and end later than Inglewood and that was taken into consideration when
reviewing our fees.
Curling is an integral part of the Inglewood Golf and Curling Club and as such we are trying to ensure its
financial viability. On average, the price per hour to curl at Inglewood will be $7.00 – $9.00/hour, (other clubs
are $8.00 – $10.00) To put this into perspective: Golf – $20 – $40/hour dependent on course, Hockey – $10 –
$20/hour dependent on prime time/non-prime time, Golf Simulator – $25.00/hr; Skiing – day pass up to
$160.00.
Inglewood Membership Fees – all curlers, including spares, are required to purchase a membership to curl at
Inglewood Curling Club.

Senior membership $30.00 plus gst (over 60 yrs old)

New Fee from Curling Alberta – Curling Alberta, which Inglewood Curling Club is a member, has
implemented a per curler fee of $13.00 that is to be paid to Curling Alberta starting the 2021 2022 season. This
fee is to be paid by every curler that curls in any league at Inglewood Curling Club. Unfortunately, Inglewood
does not have the option to waive this fee. The breakdown fee is as follows:
• Curling Alberta Affiliation fee – $11.00
• Curling Canada Affiliation Fee – $2.00
This fee will be collected at the time of registration. If you curl at more than one club, you will only pay this fee
once. If you require further information on the Curling Alberta fee, please visit the Curling Alberta website
under membership fee. https://curlingalberta.ca/resources/membership-fees-for-curlers/
Capital Improvement Fee: the fee will remain the same for the 2021/2022 curling season. $25.00 plus gst, per
curler per league. This fee is dedicated to Capital Improvements in the curling facility. It will be collected at the
same time as the ice, membership fee, curling Alberta fee.
The Club prides itself on maintaining one of the best ice surfaces and rocks in Calgary. In order to maintain the
quality of our facility there are investments required each year. Here are some examples of what we have spent
the capital improvement funds on:
Condenser $55,000.00
Header repairs $21,000.00
Concrete repairs $4,275.00
New curling rocks $67,000.00
Brine leaks and resulting
Repairs 2020 $10,000.00
Brine leak and repairs 2021 $4,400.00
Compressor overhaul 2021 $10,268.00
Spares – Spare fees
Inglewood Golf and Curling Club wants to continue to promote a safe environment. As such, we feel it’s
important for all curlers to be registered on our Curling I/O, including spares. This will provide us with an
emergency contact and other important information. Spares will be asked to pay the membership fee to the club
this year.
Refunds
We understand that each curling member is spending their hard-earned money in order to enjoy our facilities
each year. Last year some difficult decisions had to be made due to the COVID pandemic. Management would
like to be transparent at the start of the season as to how any refund would work based on different scenarios out
of our control.
The Refund Policy recognizes that there are a number of fixed costs associated with activation of the ice plant,
the launch of the curling season and ongoing financial obligations that the Club must incur, whether or not
curling programs take place.
- Inglewood Golf & Curling Club may, in its sole discretion, reschedule or cancel games; or cancel the
remainder of the season. Such a decision will be based, among other things, on ongoing guidance from
public health authorities, government officials and governing curling bodies. - Inglewood Curling Club may, in its sole discretion and subject to compliance with public health
restrictions then in effect, extend the curling season beyond the dates set out in league contracts to
provide as many curling dates as possible to Members; provided that under no circumstances will the
curling season be extended beyond April, 8th, 2022. - In the event a league is unable to play due to circumstances beyond IGCC control:
a. The Membership and Capital Improvement Fee will be retained in full by the IGCC.
b. Ten percent of the League Fee (Ice) will be retained by the IGCC. The remaining 90% will berefunded pro rata to members for any un-played ScheduledDates. - Refunds will be made to registered Members in accordance with Inglewood Curling Club records,
regardless of whether a team internally allocated fees in a different amount. In that case,it will be up
to teams to reconcile any refunds owed to individual curlers.
Each league representative will receive a contract with the curling dates and the participation fee for each curler
for their league.
All Ice, Membership, Capital Improvement and Curling Alberta fees must be paid in full before October 8th,2021. Any payments made after October 8th, 2021 will be charged a 10% late fee.
In order to facilitate on-time starts for the next draw, as well as to permit IGCC ice staff to effect proper
between-draw sanitizing practices, it is critical to ensure that no games last no more than two hours.
Accordingly, when the buzzer goes the curlers will FINISH THEIR CURRENT END ONLY, not an additional
end.
Practice ice:
All practice ice must be pre booked. No drop ins please.
Practice ice is designated for 45 minutes. Tuesday’s between 1:00pm – 3:00 pm, Wednesday’s between 1:00pm
– 3:00pm, Friday’s between 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
These days and times are subject to change weekly. Non registered curlers are required to sign a waiver and
there is a $15.00 + gst fee.
Please contact me by email or phone to book your ice time.
5 Rock Rule – all leagues will play by the 5 Rock Rule.
For safety reasons, curling equipment IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE MAIN LOUNGE AT ANY TIME.
We encourage all curlers to use the locker rooms and designated areas for their curling equipment.
Please do not park in the staff/director parking stalls. Your vehicle will be ticketed and towed at your expense.
There will be zero tolerance of alcohol in the ice rink area. Offenders may have their curling privileges
suspended.
