Hello Curling Members,
We have started the process of refunding our curling members and we would like to clarify a few things.
In the communication that was sent out on February 9th, 2021 it stated that the “Curling Committee was reviewing what each league paid,
what each league used and what our operating costs were during the closure. As a result, the Curling Committee has determined that each
curler will get a 60% refund of their unused ice fee.”
To clarify, the refunds do not include the Membership Fee and Capital Improvement Fee.
Refunds are 60% of the unused ice fees.
Yearly Memberships and Capital Improvement Fees details:
Membership: $30.00 (senior) or $45.00 (regular) + gst
Grants curlers access to use the Inglewood Golf & Curling Facility.
Free practice ice
10 % discount on all curling supplies in the Pro Shop
Club accreditation
Support if representing Inglewood in sanctioned events
Opportunity to participate in the Curling Alberta Club Championships
Opportunity to participate in the City Championships representing Inglewood
Ability to spare in any league
Capital Improvement fee: $25.00 +gst
Capital Improvement fees over the years have paid for a new condenser, header repairs, concrete repairs and the purchase of new curling
rocks.
Here is an example of a refund – per person
Ice fee – $250.00 (20 games)
Games played – $50.00 (4 games played)
Total = $200.00
60% of $200.00 = $120.00 + $6.00 gst = $126.00
For this example – 48% of the total ice fee was refunded.
We would like to thank you all for your patience during the refund process with limited staff and we hope to have all refunds issued by the
end of March 2021.
Stay safe and healthy everyone and we hope to have a return to a normal curling season next winter.
Regards,
Kathleen Redford
Curling Coordinator
