Dear Inglewood Curling Club Member,

First of all, we want to thank you for your continued support of Inglewood Curling, and we hope you and your families are safe and well!

As per our communication last week, Inglewood made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2020/21 curling season.  This was in response to the Alberta Government’s path forward and their easing of restrictions plan. Based on this plan, the earliest we could resume curling is March 22nd, and with no guarantees. Given this late possible date to resume, it was determined the cancellation of the remainder of the season was the best option for Inglewood.  League play was put on pause on November 13th, at which time we completed one of our scheduled ice maintenance shaves to improve the conditions when re-opening. We then offered practice ice a couple days a week for a few weeks to help our curlers prepare for the re-start, but were forced to close completely on December 13th, with stronger restrictions put in place by the provincial government for the next 28 days. We still held out hope that our season would resume in mid-January, with cases and hospitalizations decreasing. However, as mentioned, on January 29th, the Provincial Government came out with their re-opening plan, and adult indoor sports was included in step 3 of the path forward.

Over the last few days, the Curling Committee has been reviewing what each league paid, what they used, and our operating costs during the closure, as we continued to maintain the ice in preparation to resume league play. As a result, the committee has determined that each curler will get a 60% refund of their unused league fees.

If you paid as an individual through our curling manager software, you will receive your refund back on the credit card you used during registration. If you’re part of a league that pays Inglewood a lump sum, we will be issuing the league rep your refund. Please be patience while we work through all the refunds with limited staff.

Once again, we thank you for your continued support, as we look forward and plan for a more successful curling season starting in
the fall.

Stay Safe!
